ZSOLNAY
Zsolnay is a Hungarian manufacturer of porcelain established by Miklos Zsolnay (1800-1880) in Pecs, Hungary in the year 1853. Zsolnay, became know at the exhibited at the 1873 World Fair in Vienna and at the 1878 World Fair in Paris, where Zsolnay was awarded a Grand Prix.
The most distinctive legacy of the Zsolnay factory is called an eosin glaze used to create pyrogranite ceramics. This technique was created in 1893 and continues to be the unparalleled trademark of the Zsolnay factory. This distinctive glaze creates a quality equal to porcelain painting, yet also allows for a very rich depth of color. Zsolnay's methods remain unique to the factory even today.
Zsolnay is worldwide the only one who creates individual family crest , sculptors and beautiful vases with this unique technique.
